There are good things and not-so-good things about photographing other photographers. The good part is that they totally understand the whole “I’ll do anything for a good picture” mantra, the not-so-good part is that it’s a bit nerve-wracking. I spent most of the day leading up to the shoot hoping that Katie and Jason would like how I captured them with my camera.
Katie is one of my really good friends here in Houston and she also happens to be a photographer. We worked on this shoot together and when I approached Katie about wanting to do a vintage/travel themed shoot, her and Jason were totally up for it! It actually worked out perfectly because these two love to travel and are headed to Croatia this summer to volunteer some of their time and talent to young children. They’re pretty awesome like that.
These photos wouldn’t have been possible if it wasn’t for some crazy-talented people who donated their time, expertise and services to this shoot. And for that, I can’t thank you enough!
Katie and I were able to find this perfect, secluded location in Houston that worked out wonderfully for the look we were going for.
Katie and Jason…wowza!
Katie’s jewelry is from J Crew and that incredible hair? Done by the ever fabulous Patricia MacKinnon.
Lara with LZ Floral always does INCREDIBLE work, and we were so lucky to have her work with us on this shoot for our florals. Seriously gorgeous!!
The travel garland was made DIY by Katie and myself.
I think Katie secretly works on her America’s Next Top Model look when she’s by herself….This right here? That’s a girl who’s WORKING it for the camera. Jason doesn’t look too bad himself. 🙂
Jason’s shirt is Tasso Ella, Pants are by Gap and his hat is American Rag. We found Katie’s dress at Forever 21 by luck, and it matched what we were going for perfectly.
One of my favorites. They had no problem getting down in the middle of those flowers. I think I remember Katie saying “Anything for a picture!”
A big thanks to Lynsey Creative for our paper goods.
I’ll end on these two because I’m absolutely in love with this soft light we found at the end of the shoot. Katie and Jason don’t look too bad either. 🙂
LOVE them Kasey!!! Can’t wait to see the rest … and, next time you come over, you can expect to see these all over our house!!
Holy smokes! These photos are phenomenal!!! Love the concept & the ideas!!!! So beautiful! Great job, as always, Kasey!
Beautiful photos!!
These are so great!
Only one thing to say Kasey, WOW! Another GREAT JOB. I think the floating shelf and the folded maps/paper airplanes is a slick trick!
