I can’t even begin to say how honored I am to have photographed this wedding.  It’s impossible to be around Ashlee and Derek and not like them.  They are both so fun to be around, and so in love with each other you can’t help but be happy for them.  When I first met with Ashlee she told me how her and Derek met, how he proposed and how she was just excited to finally marry her best friend.  Swoon.

Their ceremony took place at one of my favorite locations: Houston Oaks Country Club outside under a gorgeous oak tree.

Ashlee’s Maggie Sottero dress looks phenomenal on her.

As always, the ever fab Lara with LZ Floral did an amazing job with all things floral.

Ashlee and Derrick opted to see each other before the ceremony.  I love when my couples decide to do this.  It gives them a few moments to each other (probably the only moments they will have all day with just one another) and it allowed us to get some good portrait time in as well.

I love the raw emotion in these next few photos.

Ashlee and Derrick….you two are one gorgeous couple!!

They love to laugh together

and also be romantic with each other

I love the light coming through the trees.

A few wedding party portraits as the sun sets.

The reception took place at The Pavilion.

This gorgeous cake was done by Susie’s Cakes

First Dance

The guys at JPL Entertainment kept the dance floor going all night.

Love the photos Kasey. I think the single best thing a couple can decide to do about photos is to do photos before the wedding. Your wedding day is like you said, full of people watching you but to see your soon to be spouse before the ceremony all dressed up is an intimate and special moment that you can get all to yourself. People – do it. You won’t ever regret it. Be the first one to see your fiance and share that tender moment all to yourself and have your photographer capture it.
